Plug in to
March 24, 2006!
Anti-war sentiment is at its
highest level since the invasion of Iraq almost four years ago.
Despite the plans to continue the Occupation and the maneuvers of
the war makers, opposition to the Occupation is deepening.
Millions support an end to the
Occupation and the immediate withdrawal of all troops from Iraq. Our
task is to unite and mobilize the millions who agree with us. Along
with supporting the national actions in Washington, DC on January
27th and March 17th, the MARCH 24TH COALITION is calling on the
entire antiwar movement to organize a large, New England region-wide
demonstration on the Boston Common on March 24th, 2007 to STOP THE
WAR and to BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!
It is also important to draw
attention to the "Home from Iraq Now" referendum in November that
passed overwhelmingly all over the state calling for an immediate
end to the war and to bring all the troops home now. We should
include a regional demand against the use of National Guard troops
from Massachusetts. Together we can build a coalition that can
mobilize the widest cross-section of the people and help put an end
to this criminal occupation. Our movement can help to
massively shift the political agenda in this country to further
global justice, human needs and international solidarity. The
success of our efforts can infuse movements for the rights of
working people and oppressed social layers with confidence and
initiative.

Get your organization and allies
to endorse the March 24th action; simply reply to this e-mail if you
can endorse or if you have any questions or comments.
Participate in the planning and
organizing meetings that will take place every Monday evening at
6:30 PM at Encuentro 5, 33 Harrison Ave, 5th floor in Chinatown
(Boston).
- 3. Resource the Movement!
Help by providing human resources
(including volunteer time), funds, logistical support, and artistic
ideas for building the action.
Help reach out to other
organizations, groups and individuals to support the action and add
more voices to this movement.
Hold teach-ins, film screenings
and other events in the run up to the action; STWC can provide
essential support (including materials, logistics, publicity, and
speakers).
- 6. Build Grassroots Outreach!
Leaflet, flyer, and poster in your
neighborhood(s); STWC can help with copying, production, targeting,
etc.
And, of course... MOBILIZE
EVERYONE YOU KNOW to SHOW the WORLD that the ANTIWAR MOVEMENT has
the POWER to BUILD, SPREAD and turn millions more against this war
and ultimately STOP THE WARS of the future.
